Which area to choose for your plan
- Upmarket night with a VIP table: Salamanca and Recoletos. A select crowd and a smart dress code at most clubs.
- Students and Thursdays: Moncloa, Argüelles and Chamberí. Busy during the week, with good guest-list deals.
- Changing clubs during the night: Calle Orense, with several venues a few metres apart.
- Tourists and first time in Madrid: the centre (Sol, Gran Vía, Tribunal), with historic venues and everything close by.
- Summer and open air: Hipódromo de la Zarzuela and the plans outside the city.
How to get to each area
These are the most convenient Metro stations for each area. Remember the Metro closes around 1:30 am, so to get back late you’ll need a night bus (“búho”), a taxi or a ride-hailing app.
- Salamanca and Recoletos: Colón, Serrano, Velázquez and Núñez de Balboa.
- Moncloa, Argüelles and Chamberí: Moncloa, Argüelles, Quevedo and Iglesia.
- Orense and Azca: Santiago Bernabéu and Nuevos Ministerios.
- Centre: Sol, Ópera, Gran Vía and Tribunal.
- Outside Madrid: the easiest way is by car, taxi or ride-hailing app. If you’re a big group, ask us about transport options.
Tips for going out by area
- Have dinner near the club: you avoid last-minute journeys and arrive on time if you’re on a guest list.
- If you plan to change venues during the night, Orense and the centre are the easiest areas.
- Check the dress code: smart is more common in Salamanca, while Moncloa and the centre have more casual options.
- To get home, agree on a meeting point outside beforehand — at 6 am lots of people are looking for taxis.
