Barcelona nightclubs for students and Erasmus

Barcelona is one of the favourite cities for Erasmus students from all over Europe, and its nightlife shows it: there’s a party every night, plenty of clubs with a free guest list and good-value ticket-plus-drink deals.

The best clubs for students

• Downtown Barcelona: a huge club next to the university area, in the former Up&Down. Thursdays with a ticket and drink from €10, Fridays and Saturdays from €15, and themed parties every week.
• La Biblio: on Calle Tuset. Thursdays are 18+ with a very student vibe; Fridays (21+) and Saturdays (23+) are a bit older. Free guest list most nights.
• Otto Zutz: three floors in Sant Gervasi with hip hop, R&B and reggaeton, an 18–30 crowd and a free list if you arrive early.
• Ku Barcelona: the former Pacha, on the seafront, open every night with a very international crowd. Mondays and Thursdays are busy.

Which night to go out

Thursday is the big student night: Downtown with cheap tickets, La Biblio for 18+ and Otto Zutz. Midweek, Ku is open every night. See every night in Barcelona clubs open tonight.

Tips

• Bring your original passport or ID: photos or copies are not accepted.
• Check the age: at La Biblio it goes up from 18 to 21 and 23 depending on the night, and Downtown’s Friday and Saturday list is 21+.
• No trainers or sportswear: it’s the most common reason to be turned away.
• On the list, arrive early: deadlines are usually early and queues long.
• The metro runs all night on Saturdays and until 2 am on Fridays; other days it closes at midnight.
